Our Heritage
Rooted in the 1850 Stand, our history guides our mission for lifelong growth.
A Brotherhood of Gentlemen
The Sigma Chapter of Phi Kappa Sigma was founded on principles that transcend the college years. We believe in providing undergraduates with the structure and ethical training necessary to succeed in their careers and lead their communities.

SCHOLARSHIP
The primary goal is the attainment of a college education. Each member is obligated to maintain a sound academic record, a commitment he owes to his family, his brothers, the Fraternity, and himself. Our initiation and participation standards are directly linked to scholastic achievement.
FRATERNITY
Phi Kappa Sigma is a lifelong commitment. Members are expected to be thoroughly acquainted with all aspects of the Fraternity, participating actively in Chapter governance, finance, recruitment, and New Member education.
PERSONAL CONDUCT
Members should conduct themselves as gentlemen at all times, reflecting our core tenets in manner, dress, morals, and speech. Ungentlemanly activity is strictly avoided, as every brother represents the Fraternity as a whole.
FINANCIAL COMMITMENT
Each Chapter is a small business dependent on members meeting their financial obligations promptly. Failure to honor financial duties can lead to expulsion, as financial responsibility is a core value of membership.
COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY
Phi Kappa Sigma strives to be an integral component of higher education, maintaining a cooperative atmosphere with the University. Members should live up to the ideals of the institution and participate in its educational and cultural programs.

The Guiding Principles
