An investment in higher education, character, and professional success.

“It’s not what you’re doing in life that matters, only with whom you are doing it!” — David V. De Marco, 1991

We (the Executive Committee and Alumni) understand that sending your son to the University of Texas is a significant investment. Our role is to ensure that your investment yields a return—not just in social memories, but in higher education, character (ethics/morals/work ethic), discipline, and capability.

Our Mission: To provide the infrastructure for young men of faith to experience a diversified community of brothers. We teach our future leaders by sharing our successes and, more importantly, our failures—and how those failures shaped our lives. We support each member in ascertaining the most out of their education and gaining the experience to become successful young contributing professionals.

Our Strategic Pillars

Academic Accountability

The Degree Comes First. We never forget they are here to graduate. Academic accountability is our baseline, enforced through structured study and mentorship.

Diverse Perspectives

Innovation doesn't happen in an echo chamber. We recruit young men from different backgrounds and majors because navigating diverse viewpoints is a prerequisite for the modern workforce.

Mentorship Through Reality

Our alumni share not just their highlights, but the hard lessons from failures. We provide the "business survival guide" that isn't taught in the lecture hall.

A Legacy of Endurance

President, Sigma Alumni Corp

David is an energy executive and entrepreneur. He is the owner of Volleyball USA, Inc. and Black & Gold Resources, as well as co-owner of Texican Investments, a residential investment company. His first real estate deal was the acquisition of the Phi Kap house in Austin in 1989.

Born in Hawaii, David is the youngest of six children. His father, an Italian immigrant, fought in the Battle of the Bulge in WWII, and his mother immigrated from Germany following the US invasion during the war.

David met his wife, Kimberlee, at the University of Texas in 1986. Kimberlee started the "little sisters" program for Phi Kap, and today she owns and manages Volleyball USA and Third Coast Volleyball—a 2.4-acre sand volleyball facility and ice house in Houston.

"My perspective was profoundly altered in 2023 after I shattered my ankle in 11 pieces in a skiing accident. After nine operations and 24 months of not walking, I thank God every day for the ability to walk again. I want to bring that same reality-based resilience to our mentoring programs."

The Technological Revolution

We understand that the AI revolution is the most profound change in our lifetime. We work with all members on navigating the future of their majors, hosting open discussions on how AI is changing industries. We are committed to helping your son transition from a student into a man of principle and purpose.
